Plantar Wart / Plantars Warts

VerrucaePlantar warts are verrucae on the bottom surface (the plantar area) of the foot, although they are not always confined to the underside of the foot. Often pronounced plantars warts, this is a skin infection caused by The Human Papilloma Virus. The virus invades the skin layers and causes visible lesions to appear on the skin.

In the some cases these do not hurt and resolve without the need for treatment, however in other cases plantar warts can cause pain or continue to grow or spread therefore treatment is often sought.

Foot specialists/chiropodists are usually able to offer a range of advice for people with verrucae and warts.  Common treatments that some people may experience include the use of treatments at home, topical treatments, laser treatment, surgical techniques amongst the myriad of other treatments available.
