What should I expect at my first appointment?
At your initial consultation, your chiropodist/foot specialist will conduct a foot assessment and assess the problems or concerns you may have. We will undertake clinical tests or examinations in the office as needed to help assess your problem and develop, with you, a suitable treatment plan. (We may discuss other possibilities which may need ruling out at this stage). We will discuss with you any findings regarding your wider foot health following our assessment, including the circulation, sensation, footwear, deformity, foot posture and skin condition. We will agree on a plan with you and as necessary, will commence our treatment.

Is this covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan?
No, unfortunately, chiropody services fall outside the scope of OHIP. This is like services provided by other health care professionals such as Physiotherapists, Audiologists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Registered Massage Therapists and Chiropractors. However, Chiropody fees for the treatment of your foot condition are most often covered by many Extended Health Insurance plans offered by employers We also provide detailed receipts for insurance reimbursement or income tax purposes.
